Trinity Western fourth year outside hitter Jacob Kern had 29 kills, seven digs, two aces and 34.5 points from the outside to lead the Spartans to two victories over the Calgary Dinos this past weekend in Langley, B.C. 

On Friday night Kern had 19 kills, hit .438 percent, while adding two blocks, two digs, and 23 points in 3-1 win over Saskatchewan. Then on Saturday night the Edmonton, Alta. native had 10 kills, hit .333 percent, and added six digs, two aces, and 11.5 points to complete the sweep with a 3-0 over the Dinos. 

Over 10 matches Kern is averaging 3.59 kills/set, and hitting at .307 percent. His 3.35 kills/set and 4.5 points/set are good enough for fourth spot on the Canada West leader board.

The No. 1 Spartans finish the semester at 9-1 in conference play. TWU resumes Canada West play January 4-5 in Brandon, Man. against the Bobcats.
