SPARTANS KNOCK OFF UBC OKANAGAN TO EARN FIRST WIN OF PRESEASON

KELOWNA, B.C. – The Trinity Western men's basketball team earned its first win of the preseason, beating UBC Okanagan 73-70 Saturday.

QUOTABLE
Head Coach Aaron Muhic
"We played a very competitive second half. Peter Spangehl was huge off the bench. His defence and rebounding really sparked us. Our guards did a great job of taking care of the ball. Vartan Tanielian (Surrey, B.C.) and Pogos Trunyan (Sacramento, Calif.) scored well and provided good leadership. It was good for our team to face some adversity and overcome it as a team. I am proud of their resolve."
