LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western’s men’s basketball team will look to take a big step forward in 2018-19 and will start the year with a key home weekend against UBC Okanagan (Oct. 26-27) at the Langley Events Centre. The Canada West regular season schedule was released Thursday.

Following their season-opening weekend, the Spartans travel to Regina for a series with the Cougars before coming home to Mount Royal (Nov. 9-10). The last time TWU played MRU was in 2016-17, with the Spartans earning a weekend split, while the last time the Cougars came to Langley was in 2012-13.

Trips to UNBC and Victoria round out the fall semester.

The Spartans will start the second semester with back-to-back home weekends against Winnipeg (Jan. 4-5) and UBC (Jan. 11-12).

TWU will then be on the road to play Manitoba and Lethbridge before returning to the Lower Mainland for the annual home-and-home series with Fraser Valley (Feb. 1-2). The teams will play in Abbotsford, B.C. on the Friday before coming back to Langley Saturday. The Spartans and Cascades split last year’s series, with both teams winning on the road.

The Spartans posted a 3-17 regular season record in 2017-18.
