    LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western goalie Silas Matthys, who graduated this past spring, is continuing his career back home in Switzerland, as the BCIHL’s all-time wins leader recently signed a professional contract with HC Ambri-Piotta of the country’s top tier National League.

    Second-year Trinity Western men's hockey player Jarrett Fontaine is from Humboldt, Sask. and spent three years playing with the Junior A-playing Broncos (SJHL). In the wake of the Humboldt Broncos tragedy, in which 16 people died after the team bus crashed on April 6, 2018, Fontaine immediately returned to his home province to be there for the people of Humboldt and some of his former teammates. Since returning to TWU, our own Jessica Bailey sat down with Fontaine to talk about his experience in Saskatchewan.

    LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western’s Jarrett Fontaine (Humboldt, Sask.) was named the BCIHL’s Playoff MVP, while Spartans goalie Silas Matthys (Wollerau, Switzerland) was named the ANYTHING BRANDED Player of the Week. Along with Fontaine and Matthys, TWU forwards Evan Last (Surrey, B.C.) and Jordan Rendle (Surrey) and defenceman Dustin Deugau (Calgary) were named to the BCIHL’s Playoff All-Star Team.
