LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western’s men’s hockey team will play two regular season home games this weekend, as the first-place Spartans host Simon Fraser Thursday and Victoria Saturday.

THE WEEKEND STORY
• The Spartans will look to keep their momentum rolling this weekend as they enter the weekend riding a nine-game winning streak.
• The Spartans Florian Niedermaier (Davos, Switzerland) scored the game-winning goal in overtime on Saturday night, and is now tied with alum Josh MacKnee for the TWU career lead in goals, at 30.
• Brayden Brown (Calgary) and Evan Last (Surrey, B.C.) are tied for second in the league with 21 points.
• The Spartans goaltender Silas Matthys (Wollerau, Switzerland) was named the BCIHL’s ANYTHING BRANDED Player of the Week this past week after making 77 saves while leading TWU to back-to-back road wins over Selkirk. Matthys is leading the league in all goaltending categories this weekend, including wins, goals-against-average and save percentage.
• Third-place SFU has won their last three games.
• SFU’s Mac Colasimone is the Clan’s point leader, with three goals and 12 assists.
• Jack Palmer leads the fifth-place Vikes in scoring with three goals and 14 points in 13 games.
