SPARTANS TRAVEL TO WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY FOR COUGAR INDOOR

LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western’s men’s and women’s track and field teams will return to Pullman, Wash. this weekend to compete in the Cougar Indoor at Washington State University. It is the Spartans second trip to Pullman this season.

WEEKEND PREVIEW
Friday, Feb. 2 – Cougar Indoor – Indoor Practice Facility (Pullman, Wash.) 12:30 p.m. (PT)
Saturday, Feb. 3 – Cougar Indoor – Indoor Practice Facility (Pullman, Wash.) – 10 a.m. (PT)

THE WEEKEND STORY
MEN’S TRACK AND FIELD
• Spartan high jumper Stephen Humphrey (Abbotsford, B.C), who holds the TWU record with a mark of 2.03m, will look to improve upon his season-opening jump of 1.95m.
• Last year at Cougar Indoor, TWU triple jumper Denzel Brown (Port Coquitlam, B.C.) had a mark of 13.76m. He has already surpassed that jump this year with a mark of 14.42m at the Univerisy of Washington Preview.
• TWU pole vaulter Maxime Léveillé (Shefford, Que.) is coming off a new season’s best effort, registering a mark of 4.45m at the UW Open two weeks ago. The mark is a 14 centimetres increase over his previous mark of 4.31m, which he cleared in the season-opening UW Preview. Léveillé has a personal best of 4.65m.

WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD
• TWU First-year pole vaulter Maddie Li (Markham, ON) has shown some early-season progressions, registering a mark of 3.15m in the WSU Open which was 14 centimetres better than her mark of 3.01m in the UW Preview.
• At the WSU Open two weeks ago, Spartan high jumper Sophie Pauls (Vancouver) jumped 1.50m, which was five centimetres better than her previous mark of 1.45m at the WS preview earlier this season.
• TWU first-year Grace Konrad (Edmonton) has made some early-season gains in the 200m, as she bettered her time of 26.37 at the UW Preview with a time of 26.21 at the WSU Open.

AT LAST YEAR’S COUGAR INDOOR
• Humphrey broke the then-school record in men's high jump as he cleared 2.00m to finish fifth overall.
• TWU’s Kirsten Dunford (Bellingham, Wash.) made the pole vault qualifying standard for the U SPORTS national championships with a mark of 3.85m.
