SPARTANS BEAT MANITOBA IN THREE STRAIGHT AT REGINA INVITATIONAL

SPARTANS BEAT MANITOBA IN THREE STRAIGHT AT REGINA INVITATIONAL

REGINA – The Trinity Western women's volleyball team won 3-0 (25-22, 29-27, 26-24) over Manitoba to complete an impressive opening day at the University of Regina Invitational in which the Spartans won all six sets they played.

The Spartans, who finished last year with a 15-9 regular season record, also beat Brandon in three sets earlier in the day. TWU will play a total of five games in Regina this weekend, with Alberta, Saskatchewan and Regina also providing opposition over the course of the tournament.

QUOTABLE
TWU Head Coach Ryan Hofer
"It was a pretty special team effort for us in both games. We had a revolving door, in which everybody contributed to the floor. We put out multiple different lineups and it was fun to see them work through various situations. We're really trying to put pressure on our opponents with our serve and our block. I also think we're really seeing the depth that this team has. Every lineup competes really hard and it's exciting to see what the future holds."
