SPARTANS FINISH UNBEATEN AT UNIVERSITY OF REGINA INVITATIONAL

REGINA – Trinity Western's women's volleyball team capped a perfect weekend of volleyball with a 3-1 (25-23, 25-12, 24-26, 25-22) win over Regina Sunday at the University of Regina Invitational.

The wins sees TWU finish the tournament with a 5-0 record, which included wins over Brandon, Manitoba, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The Spartans are back on the court Oct. 12-13 when they will host Queen's, Thompson Rivers, Guelph and UBC in the West Coast Classic.

TWU opens the Canada West regular season Oct. 19-20 at home against Regina.

QUOTABLE
TWU Head Coach Ryan Hofer
"It was a strong ending to a long weekend of volleyball. We were feeling a lot of exhaustion and we're learning to work through that and just play a game in which we can still play our best even though we're not feeling 100 per cent. We're going to be in situations like this at times in the season, so it's important to experience these types of moments early in the year. I'm proud of the team and I'm very proud of how our team fought through some adverse situations and learned to play together with a variety of lineups."
