After a missed serve from the Cougars, the Spartans held the lead, 16-15, going into the technical timeout. The set remained close, but in the end the Spartans won their second set in a row with a final score of 25-21.

With momentum on their side, the Spartans yet again got off to an early lead in the third set. The Cougars called their first timeout early in the set after falling behind 7-2. After regaining serve following the timeout, the Cougars went on a run tying the score 7-7. When the Cougars took their first lead of the game, 8-7, the Spartans called a timeout. From there, the Spartans held a one-point lead at the technical timeout 16-15. The Spartans went on a run, extending their lead 19-15 and eventually a kill from Howe ended the set 25-18 and the match in three sets.

Ryan Hofer – TWU Head Coach
"We really had to work hard to earn points. Mount Royal is a team that makes you work for your points, so we had to claw and scrape for everything we got. I was really pleased with the way we attacked tonight. It was a really good performance. Brie did a good job of distributing the ball and I thought it was a full team effort."
