Chris Hartmann

Chris Hartmann is a former TWU Spartan athlete and coach in volleyball who graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education in 1986. He continued coaching and completed a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology at Western Washington University in 1990.

As a professional disc golfer since 2014, Chris has competed in over 85 Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) sanctioned events across North America and in Europe. He’s been a member of Team Canada since 2017, the year Canada won the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) World Team Disc Golf Championships. He will be competing in the event again this summer in Croatia.

Chris is excited about the opportunity to bring this emerging sport to TWU Athletics and to help grow the sport in colleges and universities across Canada.  He is also pleased that young disc golfers will have an opportunity to incorporate their sport into their university experience and benefit from The Complete Champion Approach™.

In June, 2022, Chris is retiring from a lengthy career with WorkSafeBC. He is one of two partners in INdesign Disc Golf, a company passionate about designing, and consulting on, new disc golf courses. He is Director with the society that built and now maintains Raptors Knoll DIsc Golf Park in Langley.

Chris and his wife, Donna, live in the White Rock area.
