LANGLEY, B.C. –Trinity Western centre Connor Platz (Langley, B.C.) is the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after averaging 13.5 points/game, 11.5 rebounds/game, and four blocks/game as the Spartans went 2-0 at the MacEwan Griffins tournament in Edmonton, Alta.

On Friday night the third-year had a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and five blocks in the Spartans' 78-64 win over the MacEwan Griffins.

On Saturday night the general studies student had another double-double with 13 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks, in the Spartans' 73-72 win over the Alberta Golden Bears.

The Spartans (4-1) finish the 2023 preseason on a four-game winning streak.

TWU opens up Canada West conference play on November 3-4 in Kamloops, B.C. against the Thompson Rivers WolfPack. Game time is at 5:30 p.m. on both nights and can be seen live on Canadawest.TV.
