LANGLEY, British Columbia– Trinity Western’s Erica Udoh (Winnipeg, Man.) is the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after setting a new TWU women’s weight throw record at the Spokane Indoor Challenge meet in Spokane, Washington.
The second-year natural science student broke the TWU record with a weight throw of 13.63 meters. As well as throwing over 10 meters, 10.06, in the shot put, which was good enough for 20th spot.
Udoh shattered TWU's weight throw record with her throw of 13.63 meters to finish 11th at the meet. She bettered the previous mark of 11.81m, which was set by Aleena Zibin in 2002-03.
TWU will compete in the Golden Bears Open Jan. 20-21 in Edmonton.
