LANGLEY, British Columbia– Trinity Western’s Kenny Blackman Jr. (Surrey, B.C.) is the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after running 6.81 in the 60 meters this past weekend at the Inland Northwest Invitational in Spokane, Washington.
The fifth-year human kinetics student broke his personal best by .07 seconds (6.88), which he ran last February at the Harry Jerome Indoor Games. His time of 6.81 currently places him sixth in U SPORTS national rankings.
This weekend Blackman and the rest of the Spartans will be at the Harry Jerome Indoor Meet at the Olympic Oval in Richmond, B.C. The Canada West championships will begin Friday, February 23 at the Universiade Pavilion in Edmonton, Alta.
