LANGLEY, British Columbia– Trinity Western’s Issy Scholtens (Langley, B.C.) is the Spartan Female
Athlete of the Week after helping to lead the Spartans to a silver medal, losing to Harvard in the final, at the Tropical 7’s tournament in Tampa, Florida this past weekend.
The fifth-year business student finished the tournament with three tries and five conversions for a total of 25 points, while being a defensive leader for the Spartans as TWU only gave up 7.67 points per game.
TWU lost 17-7 to Harvard University in the gold medal match, as the Spartans finished the tournament at 5-1. TWU’s five wins came against Army 29-0, Clemson 44-0, Dartmouth 28-10, Quinnipiac 33-5, and Brown 17-14.
