LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western cross country runner Constance Nankivell (Edinburgh, Scotland) has been named the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week, after winning the Canada West individual title at the Canadas West conference championship race Saturday morning at Stoney Creek Park in Camrose, Alta.

Nankivell finished first in 28:38 over a grueling eight-kilometre course to become the first TWU athlete to win the conference title since Spartan-turned-Olympian Regan Yee won in 2017. Nankivell is the sixth Spartan to win the women's title and seventh Spartan overall to capture CW individual cross country gold. The Scottish sensation follows in the footsteps of Spartans Fiona Benson (2012), Alison Jackson (2013), Sarah Inglis (2014 and 2015), Yee and men's winner Declan White (2016).

Nankivell and the rest of the Spartans will now head to the U SPORTS championship November 9 at Mission Recreation Park in Kelowna, B.C.
