LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western guard Shemaiah Abatayo (Vancouver, B.C.) has been named the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after having 25 points, nine assists, nine rebounds, and eight steals to help lead the Spartans to a weekend sweep of the Thompson Rivers WolfPack this past weekend at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C.
 
On Friday night the sociology student helped lead the Spartans to a 57-46 win with nine points, five assists, four steals, and four rebounds.  Then on Saturday night, in the Spartans' 62-32 win, Abatayo led the Spartans with 16 points, five rebounds, four steals, and two assists.
 
Abatayo and the 4-4 Spartans will now host the 6-1 Fraser Valley Cascades on Friday, Nov. 29 at TWU's annual Home Court game at the on-campus David E. Enarson Gym. Game time is set for 6 p.m. (PT) and can be seen live on Canada West TV.

As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 13 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, cross country and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens. TWU also competes as an independent team in men's rugby and women's and men's disc golf.
