LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western guard Josh Belvin (Long Beach, Calf.) has been named the Spartan Male
Athlete of the Week after helping to lead the Spartans to a win over the Fraser Valley Cascades this past weekend at the David E. Enarson Gym at TWU in Langley, B.C.
The communications student had 18 points, five assists, five rebounds, and three steals to help lead the Spartans to a 78-63 win over the Cascades and extend the Spartans (4-5) winning streak to four games. Belvin is currently third on the Spartans with 12.3 points per game and 2.6 assists per game, and second in rebounds at 4.2 per game.
Belvin and the Spartans are now off for the Christmas break. TWU will return to Canada West play on January 10-11 when they will travel to Victoria to take on the Victoria Vikes at the Centre for Athletics, Recreation and Special Abilities (CARSA). Game times are set for 8 p.m. (PT) and 7 p.m. (PT) and can be seen live on Canada West TV.
