LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western blueliner Presleigh Giesbrecht (Gretna, Man.) has been named the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after stabilizing the Spartans backline in TWU’s hard-fought home-and-home series with the No. 2 UBC Thunderbirds.
The human kinetics student, who has eight points from eight assists this season from her defensive position, finished the weekend with two shots in TWU’s 3-0 and 3-1 losses to the Thunderbirds this past weekend at the Langley Events Centre and the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre.
Giesbrecht and the rest of the Spartans are now off for the Christmas Break. TWU will be back in action on January 10-11 when they host the Manitoba Bisons. Game time is set for 7 p.m. (PT) on Friday at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C., and 7:15 p.m. (PT) on Saturday at the George Preston Recreation Centre in Langley, BC. Both games can be seen live on Canada West TV.
