LANGLEY, British Columbia—Trinity Western third-year outside Kaden Schmidt (Mississauga, Ont.) has been named the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after recording a career-best in kills in the Spartans' best-of-three quarterfinal series loss to the Saskatchewan Huskies this past weekend in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

The business student finished with 61 kills, 12 digs, nine blocks, and seven aces in the three-match series. In Thursday’s 3-2 win, Schmidt had a career-best 23 kills, with four digs, two aces, and three blocks. Then in Friday’s 3-2 loss, Schmidt had 21 kills, six digs, three blocks, and two aces. And finished the weekend with 17 kills, five digs, three blocks, and three aces in the Spartans' 3-0 loss to the Huskies.
