LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western third-year centre/wing Ava Van Santen (Aldergrove, B.C.) has been named the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after helping to lead the Spartans to a second-place finish, 3-1, at the Harvard Crimson 7’s tournament this past weekend at Mignone Field at Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass.
The psychology student led the Spartans with six tries and 30 points in the tournament, where the Spartans defeated Long Island 47-0, American International 15-7, and Brown 26-5 before falling to Army West Point 22-10 in the final.
