LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western midfielder Grant Verhoeven (Surrey, B.C.) is the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after helping the Spartans to a weekend split with the UNBC Timberwolves this past weekend at Chase Office Field in Langley, B.C.

The second-year midfielder played 75 minutes on Friday and a full 90 minutes on Saturday while playing a strong defensive position in the midfield to help the Spartans secure a weekend split with the previously unbeaten Timberwolves.

The 1-3-1 Spartans will continue their homestand this weekend when they host the UBC Okanagan Heat and the Thompson River WolfPack this Friday and Saturday at Chase Office Field in Langley, B.C. Both matches have a 7:15 p.m. kick-off and can be seen live on Canadawest.tv.
