LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western fifth-year forward Chloe Reid (Leduc, Alta.) is the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after helping to lead the Spartans to a weekend sweep of the defending Canada West champion Alberta Pandas this past weekend at the Langley Events Centre in Langley, B.C.

On Friday night, in the Spartans' 3-2 shootout victory, the biology student had three shots on goal in the win over the Pandas. Then, in Saturday’s 3-2 overtime win, Reid had eight shots and the Spartans' two regulation goals, including the game-tying goal with just over five minutes remaining in the game.

Reid and the Spartans will now have a home-and-home series with the UBC Thunderbirds next week. On Friday, October 10, the Spartans will host the Thunderbirds at 7 p.m. (PT). On Saturday, October 11, the two teams will play at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre, with puck drop at 3 p.m. (PT). Both games can be seen live on CanadaWest.TV.
