LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western second-year Yemane Mulugeta (Surrey, B.C.) is the Spartan Male Athlete of the Week after winning the Cascade Collegiate Conference Cross Country Championships on Friday at the Oak Knoll Golf Course. 
 
Competing in the CCC Championships for the first time as a team, having officially entered NAIA and the CCC this fall, Mulugeta topped the field with a time of 24:03.1 over eight kilometres.
 
The conference championship is Mulugeta’s third victory of the season, previously winning the Linfield George Oja Invitational in Independence, Oregon, and the Bill Roe Invitational in Bellingham, WA.
 
Mulugeta and the Spartans will prepare to compete in the NAIA Championships in Tallahassee, Florida on November 21.

As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 11 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens.
