LANGLEY, British Columbia –Trinity Western forward Sophie Crowther (New Westminster, BC) is the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after helping the Spartans to a weekend split with a win over the Fraser Valley Cascades and a loss to the UBC Thunderbirds.
 
The fifth-year education student was instrumental in the Spartans' 1-0 win over the Cascades. Crowther finished the match with three shots, two on target, and got the assist on the game-winning goal with a perfectly placed corner kick to Lianna Holz for a header from the centre of the penalty area in added time.
 
The 1-1 Spartans will now head out on the road for two away matches. TWU will start the weekend in Prince George to face the UNBC Timberwolves on Friday, September 11, then head to Victoria to face the Victoria Vikes on Sunday, September 13. Both matches can be seen live on Canadawest.tv.
