LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western fourth-year forward Luciana Andrews (Coquitlam, B.C.) is the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after scoring in both matches of the Spartans’ final regular-season weekend, including the winning goal against the Fraser Valley Cascades.

On Friday in Abbotsford, B.C., the business student scored in the 61st minute to give TWU a 1-0 victory over Fraser Valley at Rotary Stadium. Andrews finished with one goal, and two shots, both on target, in 70 minutes of play.

Andrews scored again in the 42nd minute of Saturday’s 3-2 loss to the Thompson Rivers WolfPack at Hillside Stadium in Kamloops, B.C. She played all 90 minutes, recording one goal, and five shots, including two on goal. It was her second consecutive two-goal weekend after scoring twice against UBC Okanagan on October 16. Andrews finished the regular season with five goals, including four in TWU’s final four matches.

The 8-4-2 Spartans finished third in the Pacific Division and will visit the Mount Royal Cougars in the Canada West quarter-finals on Saturday, October 31, at Mount Royal Stadium Field in Calgary, Alta. The match can be seen live on Canada West TV.
