Box Score LETHBRIDGE, Alta. – Trinity Western's Danae Derksen (Delta, B.C.) scored her first goal of the season in the early minutes of the match and Jenaya Robertson (Delta) doubled the Spartan's lead in the 20th minute with her second of the year to help TWU to a 2-0 win over Lethbridge Sunday.
The Spartans (2-2) came out sharp, scoring the first goal of the game only thirteen minutes in, with Derksen heading home a corner kick.
The Spartans continued to pressure, with another close chance just minutes after, but Pronghorns goaltender Micaela Stone, who finished with three saves, was able to make the stop.
The score didn't stay at 1-0 for long as the Spartans notched thier second goal of the afternoon just seven minutes later. Seina Kashima (Burnaby, B.C.) passed the ball up the middle to Robertson, who slid it past Stone.
Pronghorns forward Kayla Blacquiere had a close scoring chance shortly thereafter, but couldn't quite get it past TWU keeper Christina Oliverio (Calgary).
Just before the first half ended Blacquiere had another close call, but her shot went high of the net and bounced off the football uprights.
In the second half, Oliverio came up with two more saves to earn the Spartans first clean sheet of the season.
The loss drops the Pronghorns to 1-2-1 on the season.

• The Pronghorns came into the game with some momentum, following a 5-0 win over the Fraser Valley Cascades the day before.
• The Spartans were looking for a strong finish on their weekend road-trip to the prairies, after they lost to Calgary 3-0 on Saturday.
• TWU finished with a 10-2 advantage in shots and a 5-3 edge in shots on goal.
• Lauren Eherhardt (Burnaby, B.C.) saw her first action of the season, entering the match as a late-game substitution.
UP NEXT
Both teams will be on the road next weekend with the Spartans taking on the UNBC Timberwolves and the MacEwan Griffins, while the Pronghorns will travel to Saskatchewan to play the University of Saskatchewan Huskies and the University of Regina Cougars.
