LANGLEY, B.C. – Coming off a Pacific Division-winning campaign, the Trinity Western's women's soccer also led the way on the Canada West all-star ballots, earning four Canada West First Team All-Star nods and two Second Team All-Star honours.

The Spartans First Team All-Stars include fifth-year midfielder Jenaya Robertson (Delta, B.C.), fifth-year forward Rachel Hutchinson (Cloverdale, B.C.) and fourth-year defenders Kristen Sakaki (Surrey, B.C.) and Elizabeth Hicks (Surrey, B.C.), while the Second Team All-Stars are fourth-year forward Kathryn Harvey (Coquitlam, B.C.) and fifth-year defender Brooklyn Tidder (White Rock, B.C.).

TWU's four First Team All-Stars is the most out of any team in Canada West, while the Spartans six total all-stars (not including all-rookie team members) also led the conference.

Robertson led all Canada West goal-scorers this year, tallying a TWU single-season record 14 over the Spartans 14-game schedule. The TWU captain also tied for the Canada West lead in points, equaling teammate Hutchinson with 19 points apiece.

With her 19 points, Hutchinson was once again among the very best attacking players in the conference, finishing the year with eight goals, which had her tied with teammate Harvey for fourth in Canada West, and a conference-best 11 assists.

Sakaki and Hicks both were instrumental on the back line for TWU, as the Spartans allowed just 10 goals in 14 games. Sakaki started all 14 games in the regular season, finishing with two goals and an assist, while Hicks started 13 contests, finishing with one goal and one assist.

Harvey had yet another dynamic goal-scoring season, as her eight goals had her tied for second on her team with Hutchinson and fourth in Canada West. Starting all 14 games this year, she also added three assists and was third on the team in shots on goal, with 21.

Playing alongside Hicks as a central defender, Tidder was a formidable force, solidifying a staunch back line that was among the best in Canada West. Tidder also added three goals for the Spartans.

The No. 2-ranked Spartans, who finished the year with a 12-1-1 record, are set to open their Canada West playoff schedule Sunday at 3 p.m. at Chase Office Field with a quarter-final match against the winner of the play-in game between Fraser Valley and Alberta.
