LANGLEY, B.C. – The No. 2 ranked and two-time defending Canada West champion Trinity Western women's soccer team is set to take on their cross-town rival UBC Thunderbirds Friday as the Spartans are set to compete in the Canada West Final Four for the 16th consecutive season. This year's Final Four is hosted by MacEwan University in Edmonton. A win in the semifinals will send TWU to the conference final for the ninth year in a row.

THE WEEKEND STORY
• The winner of Friday's semifinal will advance to the Canada West Final and automatically earn a berth in the U SPORTS championship tournament, hosted by Victoria.
• TWU is coming off a 2-1 win over Fraser Valley in the Canada West quarter-final last Sunday, the last home game of the season at Chase Office Field.
• UBC is also coming off a quarter-final victory last Sunday, winning 4-0 in Saskatoon over Saskatchewan.
• Riding a seven-game goal-scoring streak and fresh off winning Canada West women's soccer Player of the Year,
Jenaya Robertson (Delta, B.C.) will look to continue to help carry the Spartans top-ranked offence.

Rachel Hutchinson (Cloverdale, B.C.) and Robertson both finished the year with a U SPORTS leading 19 points.
• TWU led the conference in goals scored (48), shooting percentage (.221) and assists (32).
• UBC ranked eighth in goals (21) and shooting percentage (.109), and sixth in assists (15) this season.
• TWU and UBC last met in the Final Four in 2017, with the Spartans won 3-0 at Chase Office Field (Nov. 3, 2017) before winning the Canada West championship with a 2-1 win over Victoria.
• The Spartans held a 1-0-1 regular season record in against UBC.
• TWU is 4-0-1 in its last five games against UBC.

As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 11 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, cross country and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens.
