LANGLEY, B.C. – Trinity Western's men's rugby team will travel to play the University of Washington this Saturday, taking on the Huskies at the on-campus IMA Sports Field in Seattle at 1 p.m.

The contest will see South African flyhalf
Keegan Marengo (Edenvale, South Africa) make his Spartans debut, as he joined TWU this semester. Marengo has experience with the Johannesburg-based Golden Lions in U19 Currie Cup (2017).
Joining Marengo amongst the backs is
Ethan Kelt (Port Coquitlam, B.C.), who starts at scrumhalf, while
Markus Rauch (Abbotsford, B.C.) and
Ethan Bernardin (Langley) slot in on the wings.
Sam Wegert (Langley) will captain the side from inside centre alongside
Oliver Feagin (Harbor City, Calif.).
The front row features props
Ben Graci (Edmonton) and Mackenzie Nordli (Nanaimo, B.C.) with
Scott Bowers (New Wesminster, B.C.) once again hooking.
Nick Halladay (White Rock, B.C.) earns his first start as a Spartan in the second row, alongside
Erik Niebuhr (Surrey, B.C.).
The back row features
Brian Carlson (Langley), who gets his first start for TWU at blindside flanker, while
Nate Schroeder (West Kelowna, B.C.) is back on the open side and
Daniel Clement (Edmonton) takes the No. 8 jersey for the first time this year.
TWU is 1-2 in 15s action this year, beating UBC Okanagan before losing to the Surrey Beavers and D1A No. 4-ranked Saint Mary's College.

About Spartan Athletics
As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 11 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, cross country and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens. TWU also competes in the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League (BCIHL) in men's hockey and as an independent team in men's rugby. The men's and women's hockey programs will begin playing in Canada West and U SPORTS in 2020-21. Since TWU entered U SPORTS in 1999, the Spartans have won 12 U SPORTS team championships and 27 Canada West team championships and two BCIHL championships.
