- TWU capped off its regular season on an eight-game win streak after road victories over Thompson Rivers. They concluded the season atop the conference standings with their best record ever at 22-2.
- They take on a Winnipeg side that finished eighth in the conference at 9-15, having gone 3-7 over its last 10 games.

- Nick Colyn (Langley) and Grace Konrad (Edmonton) will lead TWU in distance events. Colyn nearly set the TWU record with an impressive 3000m race at the Husky Classic in Seattle last weekend, while Konrad set program records for 200m (24.83s) and 400m (55.58s) events this season.
- Spartans pole vaulters Giovanni Hernandez (Tepic, Mexico) and David Boyd (Victoria, B.C.) sit first (5.06m) and second (4.91m) respectively in conference ranks, while sprinter Praise Olatoke (Glasgow, Scotland) currently holds a conference-best time of 6.82s in the men's 60m.
- Mowa Adeleye (Calgary) will look to build on her strong season, too, as she sits fourth in conference triple-jump (11.78m).
