- With their playoff hopes in the balance, the Spartans women's basketball team hosts Victoria Friday (6 p.m.) and Saturday (5 p.m.) at the Langley Events Centre.
- TWU is coming off a pair of critical wins over Brandon last weekend, and are in need of another weekend sweep to hold any chance of making the Canada West playoffs.
- Forward Nicole Fransson (Edmonton) has recorded six straight 9+ rebound games for the Spartans, while leading TWU in scoring (15.9 PPG).

- The Spartans enter the weekend having won three consecutive games, and sit first in the BCIHL with a 15-1-0-1 record.
- TWU has yet to lose to either Victoria or Selkirk this season, recently picking up wins over Victoria (10-1) and Vancouver Island (5-1) last weekend.

- It will be TWU's first game action since defeating MacEwan 4-1 in the Canada West bronze medal game (Nov. 2, 2019).
- The Spartans defeated UFV three times in the winter season, which included earning a 2-1 win over the Cascades in the Canada West quarter-finals in their last meeting (Oct. 27, 2019).
- It will be one of two matches TWU play against Fraser Valley, with a rematch also scheduled for Mar. 13 at Chase Office Field.

NOTABLE
- With an impressive season now well underway, both Spartans men's and women's track and field teams continue action this weekend, splitting between the New Mexico Collegiate Classic in Albuquerque and Garry Reed Indoor Invitational in Kamloops.
- TWU had a number of record-setting performances last weekend, headlined by Grace Konrad (Edmonton), Praise Olatoke (Glasgow, Scotland) and Giovanni Hernandez (Tepic, Mexico).
- Konrad set the Spartans 400m record at the University of Washington Invitational, finishing ninth with a run of 56.60s. She also broke the Spartans 200m record earlier this season (24.97s).
- Olatoke is looking to build upon last weekend's performance, where he finished first in the 200m and set the Spartans new program record (21.35s). He broke James Linde's former mark of 21.62s.
- Pole vaulter Giovanni Hernandez meanwhile will look to improve on last week's 5.06m. The mark, which surpassed teammate David Boyd's (Victoria) program record of 5.02m, earned Hernandez automatic qualification for the U SPORTS Championships next month (Mar. 5-7).
