SPARTANS DRAW WITH UBC IN PRESEASON MATCH

LANGLEY, B.C. – In their first preseason match against Canada West competition, the Trinity Western women's soccer team left with a 3-3 draw against UBC on Monday.

Coming off of the result, TWU will look to improve upon Monday's draw as they travel to Alberta to play Calgary on Wednesday.

AS IT HAPPENED
After Kathryn Harvey (Coquitlam, B.C.) and Anna Dunn (Edmonton) scored to put the Spartans up 2-0 in the first half. In response, UBC rallied back to score three unanswered goals. With the tables turned on the Spartans, a late equalizer from Makenna Dieterich (Langley, B.C.) served as the tying, and final goal of the game.

QUOTABLE
TWU Head Coach Graham Roxburgh

"UBC provided a huge test, I said to a few of the girls that I was really encouraged by their reaction from being up 2-0 to then when an opposing goal changes momentum."

"When we had a lot of the deeper part of the roster on the field, they showed a lot of resilience and were unlucky not to score maybe one or two more goals. Maybe we win? But in the end, probably a fair result."
