QUOTABLE
Andy Evans – TWU Head Coach
"We are thankful to be in Edmonton competing again in the Canada West 7s.
"We have brought a squad who have all been working incredibly hard throughout the year and today we were able to score a couple of tries against some good teams. The standard of 7s has improved in my opinion from 2020 and it is great to be under a lot of pressure in each game.
"
Danika Dool,
Ashley Jacob,
Sara Eskildsen,
Matisan Kelly and
Issy Scholtens have played a lot of good quality minutes today and we also had some good impact from the bench, specifically with
AJ Pryce and
Kleo Schmidt.
"Tomorrow we have a tough first game with UBC and then Lethbridge. We will need to work to maintain possession against both of them and make the most of our opportunities."
Danika Dool
""It was a good hard day. Went up against some hard teams but had an opportunity to showcase the skills we have been working on in practice. Thankful for the chance to be here playing with this team against good competition. I'm looking forward to another good day tomorrow!"
