VICTORIA – Trinity Western's women's rugby team was 1-1 on Day 2 of the Canada West 7s Series event in Victoria to finish sixth overall Sunday. The Spartans beat UFV 26-10 in the consolation semifinals before falling to Calgary in the fifth-place contest 41-0 at Wallace Field.
The Spartans finished the tournament with a 2-3 record.

Playing against UFV in the Spartans first game of the day, TWU got tries from
Issy Scholtens (Langley, B.C.),
Rachel Wood (Coquitlam, B.C.),
Sara Eskildsen (Mexico City) and
Emerson Lover (London, Ont.).
Sophia Belsher (Abbotsford, B.C.) as good on three of her four conversion attempts to send into the fifth-place match.
In the fifth-place match, the Spartans were knocked off by Calgary, with an injury-depleted TWU side held off the scoreboard.
