VICTORIA – Trinity Western's women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision against UBC in the Keg Cup semifinals Saturday.
The Spartans play UFV Sunday in the bronze medal match at 10 a.m. (PT).
QUOTABLE
TWU Head Coach Graham Roxburgh
"It was a disappointing result. I thought UBC probably had the better of the first half and
Hannah Miller made two really good saves. Their keeper made a really good save and then we had a goal disallowed for offsides, which was questionable. The second half was a bit scrappy and both teams had one or two chances. We pressed hard but we couldn't score. There were some great performances. Miller was really good in goal, both with her distribution and with a few timely saves. I thought
Maddie Melnychuk (Langley, B.C.) had a great game in the midfield and helped us battle through some tough times.
Claire Bastura (Parkland County, Alta.) was also very good at right back."
