LANGLEY, B.C. – Four Trinity Western University men's rugby players have been named to the Canada West Selects' Mainland Roster for Saturday's competition with the American Raptors at Shawnigan Lake School on Vancouver Island.
TWU's
Caleb van Til (Tsawwassen, B.C.),
Favour Olaniyan (Gibsons, B.C.),
Jan Lourens (Smoky Lake, Alta.) and
Josh Halladay (Langley) will suit up for the Mainland side.
The Canada West Selects' Island and Mainland squads will face the Raptors in two separate 40-minute matches, followed by a third 'Mainland v Island' match to wrap up Saturday. These matches will be used as a selection tool for Canada West Selects upcoming trip to Halifax.
The games begin at 2pm (PT) at Shawnigan Lake School on Vancouver Island.
An emerging rugby club based in Glendale, Colo., the American Raptors are comprised of crossover athletes who have competed at the highest level of their respective sports, including the likes of football, basketball, baseball, wrestling, soccer and track and field.
