SPARTANS DRAW WITH CENTRAL WASHINGTON IN PRESEASON MATCH

SPOKANE, Wash. – Trinity Western capped off their preseason road matches on Wednesday with a 1-1 draw at Central Washington.

Theresa Hicks (Surrey, B.C.) scored TWU's lone goal as the Spartans surrendered a last-minute equalizer to CWU.

The Spartans are now 1-2-2 in the preseason, which includes a win over Western Washington (2-1), losses to Oregon State (4-1) and Gonzaga (5-0), and draws to Montana (1-1) and Central Washington.

QUOTABLE
Graham Roxburgh - TWU Head Coach
"Tonight was a good learning experience for our young team. I thought we actually competed quite well against them, but they showed true quality in their finishing and we made some mistakes that they punished us for. We're frustrated that we gave up a few poor goals.

"However, there are lots of positives that we can take away. We just have to be better in defending in crucial moments as a team."

NEXT UP
The Spartans are set to finish their preseason campaign with two matches against Bishop's (Aug. 19, 6PM PT) and Simon Fraser (Aug. 20, 7PM PT).
