VICTORIA – The Trinity Western Spartans lost 3-1 to the UBC Thunderbirds in their opening game of Victoria Vikes annual Keg Cup Saturday afternoon in Victoria, B.C.

Tilly James (Vancouver) scored the lone goal for the Spartans, while Keeper
Hannah Miller (Langley, B.C.) played the full 90 in net for the Spartans.

• The Spartans are now 18-26-12 lifetime against the Thunderbirds and 12-18-11 in Canada West conference play.
• TWU also lost to UBC 1-0 in last year's Keg Cup semi-final.
• The Spartans are 0-5 against the Thunderbirds this year, including a 1-0 loss in the consolation final at the U SPORTS championship and a 2-1 loss in the Canada West gold medal match.

The Spartans will play the loser of Saturday's 2 p.m. match between the Fraser Valley Cascades and the Victoria Vikes. The match is currently scheduled for Sunday morning at 10 a.m. After Sunday's match, TWU will close out the spring season at home against the Western Washington Vikings on Wednesday, April 5 at 7 p.m. at Chase Office Field.
