SPARTANS FALL TO EAGLES IN SECOND MATCH OF PRE-SEASON

CHENEY, Washington – Third-year forward Charity Field (Burnaby, B.C.) scored the lone goal for Trinity Western Thursday night, but it wasn't enough, as the Spartans fell 2-1 to the Eastern Washington Eagles on the road in Cheney, Washington. The loss drops the Spartans to 1-1 in pre-season play.

The Eagles scored in the 13th minute and then got the game-winner in the 88th minute to earn the victory.  Hannah Miller (Langley, B.C.) was solid in net making eight saves for the Spartans. Field tied the game with the Spartans' lone goal of the match in the 75th minute, to make for an exciting finish.

QUOTABLE
TWU Head Coach Graham Roxburgh
"Today's match was a tale of two halves. I thought we were passive and poor in the first half and didn't compete well. But at halftime, we challenged them to work together and to move the ball and I thought we played extremely well and generated many chances in the second half. So positive that we responded, but we will have to sort out why and how we allowed ourselves to be so lackluster."
"Charity field was superb and so glad she was rewarded with the goal."
