QUOTABLE
TWU head coach Graham Roxburgh
"I'm so impressed with my team's character and they're willingness to give everything today. It was really hard for a variety of reasons, but we keep finding ways and I was super happy that we generated better offence today, Mansha was outstanding with her deliveries and the ball she played for our winning goal was exceptional . Our back line continues to show such courage and poise. I thought our midfield today won a lot of battles and helped us stifle some of their direct play. I'm so encouraged by their willingness to keep believing and keep trying to do the right things. It is a total team effort today. Super excited that Payton was rewarded for such a great second half. I couldn't be more pleased for her. We live another week. Will travel heal up and give it our best go."

AS IT HAPPENED
The Dinos' Burtini opened the scoring in the 13th minute when she took a high pass from Grace Moore in the middle of the box and volleyed it into the top right corner of the Spartans net.

TWU responded just over eight minutes later on a corner kick. From the right corner Sidhu sent a ball to the far post where Andrews went high and headed the ball into the top left corner of the net to tie the match up at 1-1 in the 21st minute.

Sidhu got her own 20 minutes later. From a free kick near the top right corner of the Calgary penalty area Sidhu hit a perfectly placed curling shot over the hands of Demarbre and into the top left corner of the Dinos net. To give TWU the 2-1 lead in the 41st minute.

The Dinos tied the match midway through the second half. Dipalma took advantage of TWU defensive miscues and found herself open on the far post after a redirected shot from Rowyn James. The loose ball came to Dipalma who easily put the ball into the open Spartan net to tie the match at 2-2 in the 69th minute.

On a counterattack, after a Dinos free kick, TWU got the lead back. First-year midfielder Veronica Walter (Calgary) ran up the left side and onto a long pass and going in alone on the Calgary net sent a ball across the six to a wide-open Izsak to put TWU up 3-2 in the 80th minute.

The Dinos had a number of corner kicks late, but the Spartans defence were able to keep Calgary from getting the equalizer as TWU earned the bronze medal victory 3-2.
