JAMES NAMED 2ND TEAM ALL-CANADIAN

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia. – Trinity Western women's soccer fourth year defender Tilly James (Vancouver, B.C.) was named U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian at the All-Canadian Awards Banquet in Halifax, the site of the 2024 championship tournament.
 
This is the third time James has been honored at the All-Canadian awards banquet. In 2022 she was a first team All-Canadian, and in 2021 she was named to the U SPORTS All-Rookie team. James is also a four-time Canada West all-star and was named to last year's U SPORTS championship tournament All-Star team.
 
James finished the Canada West season with three points on two goals, including one game winning goal, and one assist, while adding 10 shots. During her four-year career with the Spartans defender has attained 19 points with 12 goals and seven assists, including four game winning goals.
 
The No. 7 Spartans open the U SPORTS Championship Thursday with the first quarter-final matchup against host No. 2 Laval at 11 a.m. (MT). All games can be seen on all CBC Sports digital platforms, including the CBC Sports YouTube Channel.

About Spartan Athletics
As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 13 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, cross country and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens. TWU also competes as an independent team in men's rugby and women's and men's disc golf. Since TWU entered U SPORTS in 1999, the Spartans have won 14 U SPORTS team championships and 33 Canada West team championships.
