Sophie Crowther (New Westminster, B.C.) is the Spartan Female Athlete of the Week after helping to lead the Spartans to a 0-1-1 weekend against the UBC Thunderbirds and the Victoria Vikes at Chase Office Field in Langley, B.C.
On Friday night, the Education student had two shots on goal in the Spartans' 1-0 loss to the UBC Thunderbirds. Then, on Saturday, she had one assist and one goal with six total shots and four shots on goal in the Spartans' 2-2 tie with the Victoria Vikes.
Crowther and the Spartans will now end the season with a home-and-home series with the Fraser Valley Cascades. TWU will host UFV on Friday, October 17, at the Chase Office Field in Langley, B.C. Then they will conclude the season Saturday, October 18, at Rotary Stadium in Abbotsford, B.C. Match time is set for 6 p.m. (PT) for both games and can be seen live on CanadaWest.TV.
