QUOTABLE
Graham Roxburgh, TWU Head Coach
"We obviously took care of business in a good way. ?We knew UFV would be feisty and scrappy, and they defended very well, so we had to be a little bit sharper than we were last night. Beautiful first goal for us, I thought
Bryana Buttar's (Abbotsford, B.C.) ball into
Lianna Holz's (Richmond, B.C.) overlapping run. and Mansha's clinicalness to finish was excellent. So that settled us down. But I still didn't think we were making the best passes, and maybe we were forcing things a little bit. ?So, I was really pleased that in the second half we were able to score twice more.
On Sophie Crowther's performance
"Super pleased for Sophie; she deserves it to tie that record. She's been so clinical in providing offence, good assists, timely goals, and so forth. So I'm really pleased because she deserves it. She's having a fantastic season."
AS IT HAPPENED
Sidhu opened the scoring in the 25th minute when Holz found her on the far side of the penalty area, where she put the ball into the open net to score the lone goal of the opening 45 minutes.
Sidhu got her second of the match and her eighth of the season in the 71st minute on a penalty kick. The Spartans' PK was awarded when Sidhu was knocked down from behind in the Cascades penalty area. TWU finished the scoring in added time when Cooper got on the end of Crowther's historic pass to make the final 3-0.
