LANGLEY, British Columbia – Trinity Western second-year Yemane Mulugeta (Surrey, B.C.) has been named the NAIA Male Cross Country National Athlete of the Week, which is presented by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, as well as the Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, after his performance this past weekend at the Linfield George Oja Invitational at the Oak Knoll Golf Course in Independence, Oregon.

The business student won the race with an impressive 23:34.1 time over the 8 km race, more than 13 seconds ahead of teammate Justin Kiplagat, who finished second in the race.
 
Mulugeta and the rest of the Spartans will now prepare for the NAIA Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship, which will be at the same Oak Knoll course on Friday, November 7.
