WSOC | SPARTANS NAMED TO ALL-STAR TEAM

LANGLEY, British Columbia - Two Spartans have been named Canada West Pacific Division All-Stars after Trinity Western's 10-3-1 regular season and a second-place finish in the Pacific Division.
 
Four-time all-star forward Sophie Crowther (New Westminster, B.C.), who had a dominant offensive season with her leading Canada West in points (19) and a record-tying 13 assists, and fourth-year midfielder Emily Watchman (Edmonton, Alta.), who finished as one of the top midfielders in Canada West. TWU first-year defender Clara Chudley (Victoria, B.C.) was also named to the Canada West All-Rookie team after a quality first year.
 
The No. 6-ranked Spartans take on the MacEwan Griffins at Chase Office field in Langley, B.C. Friday night at 6 p.m. (PT) for their Canada West quarter-final match-up. The match will be streamed live on Canada West TV.

About Spartan Athletics
As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 11 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens. TWU also competes as in the NAIA in track and field and cross country as an independent team in men's rugby and women's and men's disc golf. Since TWU entered U SPORTS in 1999, the Spartans have won 14 U SPORTS team championships and 33 Canada West team championships.
