LANGLEY, British Columbia – In this week's U SPORTS Top 10 rankings, the Spartans' men's and women's volleyball teams remain in the national rankings after a home match with the UBC Thunderbirds, while the Spartans women's disc golf and mixed disc golf teams are making it into the top 10 of the Disc Golf Power Rankings.
The Spartans' men's volleyball team moves up to the No. 1 spot after defeating the former No. 1 UBC Thunderbirds at home at the Langley Events Centre. Women's volleyball drops one spot to No. 4 after a four-set loss to former No. 4 UBC Thunderbirds at home. The Spartans women's disc golf team debuts at No. 9 between Western Michigan and No. 10 North Carolina, with the mixed team also at No. 9 between Tennessee Tech and Mississippi State.
The men's and women's volleyball teams will both have a return match with the UBC Thunderbirds at War Memorial Gym in Vancouver, B.C., in the second game of the home-and-home series. The UBC men dropped to No. 2, while the women moved up to No. 4. The men's matches are scheduled for 6 p.m. (PT), and the women's for 8 p.m. (PT) on Friday, November 21.
