SPOKANE, Wash. – Trinity Western had a strong day in Spokane at the Inland Northwest Invitational, highlighted by Danny Earles earning the U SPORTS qualifying standard in the 300m, a podium sweep in men's long jump and both of TWU's weight throw records falling Saturday at The Podium. 
 
Earles finished second overall in 33.96 to earn automation qualification for nationals. Earles put himself fifth in the U SPORTS 300m rankings, just ahead of teammate Rui Ramsay (34.01), who grabbed his ticket to nationals earlier this year. 
 
The Spartans took the top three spots in men's long jump, with Oke Okumo jumping 7.08m, Caleb Emon earning a mark of 7.01m and Dajean Clarke coming in at 6.98m. Okumo's 7.08m sees him slot in 11th in the U SPORTS men's long jump rankings.
 
In weight throw, TWU's Erica Udoh bettered her own Spartans record by more a metre with a throw of 15.38m. Udoh, who's previous TWU record was 14.06m (Feb. 24, 2024), is ranked 11th in U SPORTS. On the men's side, Harris Marshall set the TWU weight throw record with a mark of 13.51m in his first-ever meet as a Spartan. The previous record of 9.25m was set by Ralph Alvaro Feb. 8. 2014.
 
In pole vault, Jaime Eduardo Martin Huerta was third overall in Spokane, clearing 4.81m to put him third in the U SPORTS rankings. 
 
Eileen Noordam led the way in shot put with a mark of 12.11m to put her 12th in the U SPORTS rankings.
