SPARTANS FINISH DAY ONE IN VICTORIA 1-2 IN RUGBY 7’S

VICTORIA, British Columbia– The Trinity Western Spartans opened the second tournament of the Canada West 7s Series going 1-2 on day one, with the lone win coming in their opening match against the Calgary Dinos, while dropping matches to the UBC Thunderbirds and the Victoria Vikes.
 
The Spartans defeated the Dinos 17-7 in the opening match of the day. TWU would then drop both of their afternoon matches, falling 31-12 to the UBC Thunderbirds and 29-7 to the Victoria Vikes.

About Spartan Athletics
As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 11 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens. TWU also competes as in the NAIA in track and field and cross country and as an independent team in men's rugby and women's and men's disc golf. Since TWU entered U SPORTS in 1999, the Spartans have won 14 U SPORTS team championships and 33 Canada West team championships.
