Ava Van Santen (Aldergrove, B.C.) is the Spartans Female Athlete of the Week after helping lead the Spartans to a Canada West bronze medal this past weekend at Thunderbird Stadium in Vancouver, B.C.
The psychology student finished the weekend tournament with six tries and three conversions for a team-leading 36 total points to help lead the Spartans to a 3-2 tournament record. The third-place finish gives TWU a total of 18 competition points and a Canada West bronze medal.
Van Santen and the rest of the Spartans will now have a month off before heading to the Tropical 7's tournament on April 3-4 at the Tampa Sportsplex in Tampa, Florida.

As official members of U SPORTS, the Spartans currently compete in 11 sports in the Canada West conference, including women's and men's soccer, volleyball, basketball, hockey, and track & field, as well as women's rugby sevens.
