PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – Trinity Western's
Lianna Holz scored her second goal of the season in the 32nd minute to help lift the No. 8-ranked Spartans to a 1-0 win over UNBC Friday at Masich Place Stadium.
The Spartans (2-1) had a 28-4 edge in shots and a 16-3 advantage in shots on target as they dominated a contest that showed a much closer match on the scoreboard than on the pitch.
Mansha Sidhu had a match-leading six shots on goal, but UNBC netminder Johanna Rathke did well to keep the Timberwolves (0-3) within striking distance all night.
TWU's
Yasmine Pahal was good on all three shots she faced.
The Spartans are now 17-0-1 all-time against UNBC, having yet to drop a point in Prince George.

"Overall I am pleased with tonight's game because we did a lot of the good things. We just lacked the final pass or shot or they defended some situations well. Their keeper robbed Luciana (Andrews) and if not for that, the game would have been more comfortable. Credit to UNBC because they made it hard to break them down, but we did enough to win and we're growing in our attacking play. Overall, we will continue to work hard and work to be sharp in the final action."
